A study by the Online Publishers Association found that news is the most popular online video category (27% watch at least once a week) followed closely by funny videos (26%). And here’s an interesting stat: most internet users only go to a small handful of sites for their video. In other words, habits are being formed fast. Go here for the press release summary and here for tons of stats in the full report (pdf). And then compare it all to this stupid story in MediaWeek that’s headlined, “OPA Study: Online Video Not Meeting Hyped Expectations.” My suggestion for MediaWeek: stick to TV coverage.
