According to Walt Mossberg, Tech guru for the Wall Street Journal, the long-awaited Mobile ESPN phone service contains great content for the hard-core sports fan, but for most people, it’s not worth the trade-offs in price, hassle and Web restrictions.
Limitations of the new service include:
-inability to download applications
-inability to browse beyond ESPN-approved sites
-inability to get email and use instant messaging
Although these limitations, according to ESPN, might be temporary and change in the future, Mossberg points out the positives of the service:
-elaborate package of sports news and information, which can only be accessed via ESPN phones and the ESPN service.
